- Broom finish. The most straightforward and cost-effective option. A brushed texture provides good grip and sheds water well. It is clean-looking, low maintenance, and gets the job done for most residential pools.
- Exposed aggregate. The top layer of the concrete is washed away to reveal the stone aggregate underneath. The result is a natural, textured look with excellent grip and good heat resistance compared to a smooth surface.

Control joint placement. Concrete expands and contracts with temperature. Without proper control joints placed at the right intervals, the slab will crack on its own, and usually in the most visible spots. We plan the joint layout before the pour so any movement happens along intentional lines.
Slope and drainage. The deck needs to slope away from the pool and toward your drainage system. Flat decks hold water, which leads to algae growth, surface staining, and long-term erosion of the base. We set the grade properly before we pour.
